Minions: The Rise of Gru commercial
Back in late 2019 I was directing a Minions: The Rise of Gru commercial for Chinese company JD.com–they’re the Amazon.com of China. They mascot is a little white dog names Joy. In all their commericals she acts as a hero and the same happens in this commercial spot.
I started this comercial back in late 2019 and got it all the way to second pass animation, and then in March of 2020 we went into lockdown and production stopped on the commercial and the release of the movie was pushed to July 2022. I had left the studio to work on the Peanuts special and Babeth Patty took it over to final animation and final render. Thank you Babeth!
